“YERMA”
ASSOCIATION OF DRAMATIC ARTISTS OF VOJVODINA/SERBIA
By Aleksandra Pejić and Danilo Milovanović Vukmanovic
This performance reimagines Lorca’s Yerma through a fusion of spoken word, f lamenco music, and dance. At its core lies a suffocating marriage shaped by patriarchy, silence, and the unfulfilled desire for children. Minimal scenography and live flamenco guitar intensify the raw emotions, while movement and mu sic transcend language barriers, allowing the audience to connect deeply with the themes of love, frustration, and identity. The play confronts questions of female rights and personal freedom that remain urgent and relevant today
