“FOR A BETTER WORLD”

By Roland Schimmelpfennig
Roland Schimmelpfennig’s “For a Better World” unfolds in a dystopian jungle at war, where the reasons for fighting are lost and survival becomes a psychological struggle. Amid collapsing nature—vanishing air and water—the play explores the crisis of human identity shaped by endless conflict and ecological destruction. Through dreamlike, traumatic states of its characters, the performance reflects on war’s disguised necessity in society and urges a reimagined relationship with nature—not as territory to dominate, but as a shared space to preserve.
