BLOOD WEDDING
KAZAKH STATE ACADEMIC THEATER FOR YOUTH
Federico Garcia Lorca
Spain, the beginning of the XX century. A tragedy about a woman between two men in a repressive society, that explores the themes of love, gender roles, and isolation. The reality of love and relationships between people, without hyperbolic sentimentality.
And in the play ”Blood wedding” there was none. There was the reality of love, of relationships between people.
What I like about Lorca is the freedom of feeling. You are free to love whover you want, whenever you want. There are no boundaries and public opinion. I also really like Lorca versatility as an author and his humor in his works. I think what modern society lacks nowadays is love and humor.”
